He is the brother of Cara and Wayne Black, both professional tennis players. He attended the University of Southern California and was an All-American as named by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
In 1995 Black was a US Open quarterfinalist and in 2000 he reached the same round at Wimbledon. His highest career singles ranking was World No. 22, which he achieved in June 1996.
An accomplished doubles player, Black became world no. 1 in doubles in February 1994. He won the 1994 French Open partnering Jonathan Stark. Black was a doubles finalist in three other majors, the 1994 and 2001 Australian Opens and 1996 Wimbledon.
Black is one of the few professional players to have played with a double-handed forehand.
Black formed the core of the Zimbabwean Davis Cup team with his brother Wayne.
As a junior Byron played tennis for Prince Edward School in Harare. On one occasion as a 13 year old he thrashed an 18 year old Bunny Eales (a friend of Andrew Mitchell) of Oriel Boys 6-1 6-1 in an interschools game. He moved to Oriel Boys High School to increase his exposure to stronger players, like Greig Rodgers and Mark Gurr, future Davis Cup players for Zimbabwe. Byron played in Club Open Tournaments in Harare as well as the Zimbabwe Open tournament for several years before turning professional.

Cara Black (born 17 February 1979) is a professional female tennis player from Zimbabwe. She has won 7 singles titles and 63 women's doubles titles. She has won all four Grand Slam mixed doubles titles and three of the four Grand Slam titles in women's doubles. She is currently ranked World No. 4 in women's doubles.
Career
Born in Salisbury, Rhodesia (now Harare, Zimbabwe), as the daughter of Don and Velia Black, the tennis-playing Cara is the younger sister of Wayne Black and Byron Black, both professional male tennis players.
Cara has won five Grand Slam women's doubles titles in her career: Wimbledon 2004, 2005, and 2007; Australian Open 2007; and US Open 2008. She reached the 2000 US Open doubles final with Elena Likhovtseva. She has also won three Grand Slam mixed doubles titles, two of them partnering with her brother Wayne: the 2002 French Open and the 2004 Wimbledon Championships (they reached the final of the 2004 French Open and the semifinals of the 2003 French Open and 2003 US Open); and most recently the 2008 U.S. Open with Leander Paes of India

Even though she made the final of Warsaw and won a small tournament in Birmingham, she mostly received modest results after the break-up. Partnering with Vesnina and Hantuchova respectively, she lost in the third round of the French Open and Wimbledon. Partnering with Rodionova, she lost in the semifinals of the US Open to Vania King and Yaroslava Shvedova. Black then missed all tournaments following the US Open and did not qualify for the year end championships for the first time since 1999. Black ended 2010 ranked 13th in doubles, the first time she finished a year outside of the top 10 since 2000.
However, Black continued her successful partnership with Paes in 2010 as the pair won Mixed Doubles Title at Wimbledon and reached the quarterfinals at the US Open.

Wayne Hamilton Black (born November 17, 1973 in Salisbury, Zimbabwe, now Harare) is a former professional male tennis player from Zimbabwe.

He won two men's doubles Grand Slam titles (2001 U.S. Open and 2005 Australian Open) with compatriot Kevin Ullyett and two Grand Slam mixed doubles titles (2002 French Open and 2004 Wimbledon) with sister Cara.
Black reached his career-high doubles ranking of 4 on January 31, 2005, following his second Grand Slam title win at the 2005 Australian Open with compatriot Kevin Ullyett. Black, like his two siblings, was a doubles specialist.

Lourenco represented his native country at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, where he was defeated in the first round by France's Guy Forget. The Zimbabwean reached his highest singles ATP-ranking on 5 November 1990, when he became World Number 853.
Lourenco participated in eight Davis Cup ties for Zimbabwe from 1983-1990, posting a 9-4 record in singles and a 1-2 record in doubles.
He now teaches tennis at the Champions Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
