In the doubles, Stosur was 3rd seed with Nadia Petrova. They had a comfortable route to the final, dropping only one set, where they lost 6–4 2–6 10–5 to Květa Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik.
Stosur's next tournament was the 2010 Sony Ericsson Open in Miami where she was seeded 9th. Due to her seeding, Stosur received a bye in the first round. She battled from a 6–4 5–3 deficit and was one game away from defeat before coming back to record a 4–6 7–5 6–2 victory against Carla Suárez Navarro. Her third round was also tough, winning in a similar scoreline 4–6 7–5 6–1 against Virginie Razzano.

Severine Beltrame (born August 14, 1979 in Montpellier, France World No. 65, following her success at the 2006 Wimbledon Championships, where she reached the quarterfinal of a Grand Slam event for the first time in her career—as a qualifier. On her run to the quarterfinal, Brémond defeated No. 10 Patty Schnyder in the second round for her first top 10 win, Gisela Dulko in the third round, and Ai Sugiyama in the fourth, losing to Justine Henin-Hardenne, the eventual finalist, 6–4 6–4. Dwight David Howard (born December 8, 1985) is an American basketball player for the Orlando Magic of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Howard, who usually plays center but can also play power forward, had an outstanding high school career at Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy. He chose to forgo college and entered the 2004 NBA Draft, and was selected first overall by the Magic. A five-time All-Star, four-time All-NBA team selection, three-time All-Defensive member, and three-time Defensive Player of the Year, Howard has been ranked consistently as one of the best in the league in rebounds, blocks, field goal percentage and free throw attempts, and has set numerous franchise and league records. He has led the Magic to three division titles and one conference title, and he was the winner of the 2008 NBA Slam Dunk Contest. in 1995—where the Orlando Magic selected him first overall over UConn junior Emeka Okafor. He took the number 12 for his jersey, in part because it was the reverse of Garnett's 21 when he played for Minnesota. Howard joined a depleted Magic squad that had finished with only 21 victories the previous season; further, the club had just lost perennial NBA All-Star Tracy McGrady. Howard, however, made an immediate impact. He finished his rookie season with an average of 12.0 ppg and 10.0 rpg setting several NBA records in the process.

Howard said that he wanted to use his NBA career and Christian faith to "raise the name of God within the league and throughout the world. He has stated he believes in reaching out to his community and fans and thus contributes substantially in the field of philanthropy. An avid listener of Gospel music, he attends the Fellowship of Faith Church when he is back home in Atlanta and is involved and active with the youth programs at the church. The Foundation provides scholarships for students who want to attend his alma mater, Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy, and grants to Lovell Elementary School and Memorial Middle School in Orlando, Florida. The Foundation also organizes summer basketball camps for boys and girls, and together with high school and college coaches and players, fellow NBA players are invited to be on hand at the camp. Sidney Patrick Crosby ONS (born August 7, 1987) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player and captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League (NHL). Crosby was drafted by the Penguins out of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) first overall after earning back-to-back CHL Player of the Year awards and leading his club to a berth in the 2005 Memorial Cup during his two-year major junior career with the Rimouski Océanic. Nadia Elena Comăneci (Romanian born November 12, 1961) is a Romanian gymnast, winner of three Olympic gold medals at the 1976 Summer Olympics, and the first gymnast ever to be awarded a perfect score of 10 in an Olympic gymnastic event.
